Onyx 8
Two firsts went into this cable.
The first is what you see. Onyx sits grey in the hand, but catch it under light at the right angle and a green hint surfaces through the braid. No other Verus cable does this.
The second is what you don't see. The core pairs high-quality solid-core pure silver litz with PCUHD copper litz made in Japan — the first time Japanese copper has gone into a Verus build.
Why eight braids
8 is the fullest configuration Onyx is offered in. More conductor in hand, a denser braid pattern, and a heavier drape than the 2, 4 and 6 builds. It is the choice for a desktop or home rig rather than a pocket setup — if you carry your IEM daily, look at Onyx 4.
Coaxial, not braided side by side
Core and shield sit on a single axis. Signal and return hold a fixed relationship along the entire length of the cable, rather than shifting as a braid twists.
